Jethou Homepage

Video of the top of Jethou covered in snow. (Other video clips may be available later).

This was filmed in 1966 on super-8 cine film then transferred to video in 1989.

It was captured onto the PC from a Video player using a TV/Capture card. The result is not stunning quality, but with the aging cine film on the point of falling to pieces it's amazing it survived at all!

The clip is just under a Megabyte, so it may take a little while to download, after it has run, click on refresh on your browser to play it again, right clicking will also give you options to play and stop the video, or save it to your hard drive.

If it does not play, you may not have the right video codecs installed on your PC, try downloading the Nimo codec pack from: http://www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_pack.html This may allow you to play other video clips as well. Please note that some understanding of codecs and computers is needed to safely do this. While it is easy to download and install the codec pack and in most cases everything will work fine, it is possible you could experience some problems.

The view is from just west of the centre of the Island looking first Southeast, then panning to the North.

The single standing "Fairy stone", probably dating back to the time of the Druids can be seen near the centre of the level area, the building to the left is a cowshed constructed during the Faed tenancy.
